Submissions
The Hector O Sanchez Music Company publishes educational music primarily for schools, churches,
and private music studios, etc.
• Choral: We publish octavos and educational materials for use in sacred and secular settings.We do not generally publish vocal solos. If the music is an arrangement, please include a
copy of the original source material. Copyrighted music and/or text that is not accompanied by
a letter of permission will not be reviewed. Please send 2 copies of each piece that you aresubmitting. Submissions accompanied by a recording and an engraving file Finale is encouraged.
• Piano: We prefer to publish collections (ten or more pieces) of piano music rather than single
title sheets. Solo and duet literature for all levels may be sent for publication consideration.
The Hector O Sanchez Music Company does publish music for the organ as well.
• String Orchestra: String music composed or arranged for students in elementary through
senior high is of special interest. Please include a conductor’s score and CD for any music
you wish to submit. Compositions for full orchestra or for chamber ensembles of string or
mixed instrumentation are being reviewed at this time as well.
• Concert Band/ Marching Band: To be considered, please send your manuscripts and
recordings. Your submission should include a conductor’s score as well as a CD recording of
the music in order to be fully evaluated. MIDI recordings are acceptable, but are not preferred.
• Jazz: Please include a conductor’s score and CD for any music you wish to submit.
All music and text must be original or in the public domain. Material that is protected by copyright will only be considered if permission from the copyright owner is included. If the material is arranged
from a public domain source, please include a copy of the original source material.
Let us know why you think your music may be of interest to students and teachers and provide a briefbiographical sketch of yourself. We will advise you of the approximate length of time the review
process will take.
